Click on Delete (D) then click on the track section, trackside object, or trackmark object to delete it.

When deleting a track section, if there are any objects on the track, they will also be deleted.

If deleting a trackside object (select Trackside Mode first, then select the Delete Trackside tool), or trackmark object (select Trackmark Mode first, then select the Delete Trackmark tool), click on the object to delete it, leaving the track behind.
