When the Broken Hill to Port Pirie line was converted to standard gauge in 1969, the Quorn Line became an isolated narrow gauge branch line until it was closed in 1988. The Port Augusta to Hawker narrow gauge line was operated by the Commonwealth Railways until it was closed in 1972. The Port Augusta to Quorn Line now operates as a preserved heritage railway under the name "Pichi Richi Railway". Created to support the TRS19 version layout.
