Distance from Gladstone: 87¼ kms, 54¼ miles
The terminus of the Gladstone-Wilmington Line and a manned station until 1983 when all the station staff on the line were withdrawn. The town of Wilmington is located about half a mile to the west of the station.
Station and goods loops, a grain siding and a stockyard. A loco shed with coaling and watering facilities and a turning WYE.
Proposals were made to extend the line from Wilmington to Quorn or Port Augusta but never progressed beyond proposals.
The Gladstone-Wilmington Line is unsignalled. Train Order working is in operation on the line.
Passenger services ended in 1969. The line was closed in 1990 and the track has since been removed.
All that now remains at the former Wilmington station and yard are the grain silos, the water tower and the base of the yard crane.
The former right-of-way from just south of Laura to Wilmington is now an 80km walking, cycling and horse riding trail, the Southern Flinders Rail Trail.
