animdist

This tag is compulsory of your bogey is animated. Leave this tag out if the bogey is not animated.

Data type is float i.e. 1.5

The data value is the distance traveled in meters by the bogey in 1 second (30 frames) of animation. This figure would normally be the circumference of the wheel (multiply the wheel diameter by Pi which is 3.1416). If for instance there are large driving wheels and smaller wheels used on the pilot, of a steam locomotive, you will need to work out the correct value for each bogey using the angular rotation for 30 frames.

Note: Bogey animations (exported from gmax or 3dsmax or blender) are called “anim.kin”. In previous versions of Trainz, the following lines were used in the config.txt file -

anim anim.kin

animation-loop-speed 1.0

These are no longer required. Trainz automatically recognises the anim.kin file for the bogey. These lines if used in the config.txt will generate an error log message about incorrectly specified animation being ignored.
