When the Broken Hill to Port Pirie line was converted to standard gauge in 1969, the Quorn Line became an isolated narrow gauge branch line until it was closed in 1988. Hammond was going to become a major commercial and freight centre on the line but this never eventuated. Created to support the TRS19 version layout.
