USRA 0-6-0

The USRA (United States Railroad Administration) was the nationalized railroad of WWI. The 0-6-0 depicted here was the standard light switcher of which 255 were built under Government contract, and a further 1000 were made. They were built in the ALCO, Lima and Baldwin factories. The 0-6-0 was designed, and became a very successful switcher for many railroads, 35 to be precise including New York Central, Erie, B&O, N&W, Indiana Harbor. 12 types of USRA classes were utilized before disbandonment in the 1920's.
