Unmanned station on the Gladstone-Wilmington Line . The town of Melrose is just over a mile south of the station.

Station and goods siding loops, with storage/shunting sidings.

The Gladstone-Wilmington Line is unsignalled. Normally only a single train is permitted on the line at any one time.

The line was closed in 1990 and the track from Melrose to Wilmington has been converted into a rail trail.
