I have a question with regard to this ..

OPTIONAL SOFTWARE) nDo2 is a Photoshop plugin that makes creating normal (or bump) maps for your models a breeze.

While both nDo2/Crazy Bump are useful apps, would not be more appropriate, in this instance, to use a lower polygon count for the top level LOD after generating the required normal map from a high detail mesh,as in this Blender example

http://www.katsbits.com/tutorials/blender/baking-normal-maps-from-models.php

Or the many examples for 3ds Max (and other 3D packages) available on the interwebs.

Your partial wireframe pic and the count seem to be above what would normally be required for such a simple game object.

I Really Need It?

Hello.

I play with Trainz since 2008 and I want to create some content. I really need to buy 3DS Max and spend US$3,675.00 for making a content or there is another software I can use?
