Southern Steam in Trainz

Project Leader: SR6900

From the tiny A-7 0-6-0's to the aesthetic Ps-4 4-6-2's to the monstrous Ls-2 2-8-8-2's, we are creating each of the major engine classes and variations of the Southern Railway's steam fleet. I would like to say that the engines will have different variations and feature based on what subsidiaries owned and equipped locomotives with. Such as pneumatic smoke hoods or Wimble Smoke Ducts on CNO&TP engines along with the CNO&TP's unique numberplates. NO&NE will not have large Mikes or much anything bigger than a Ps-2. Same for GS&F. So you will have a selection of engines, schemes, features, etc. I hope to have scripted elements such as markers, ARN, and smoke effects. I also have a goal set for animated bells, custom interiors, and many other "payware only" features. All of this freeware. This will be allow you to drive around any type of Ps-4 and will exhibit the beauty of the steam of the oldest completely dieselized Class 1 Railroad. That is what makes Southern Railway a challenge to model. It was a road of innovation, loving to welcome in new technologies. They wanted to leave the past behind and be the railroad of the future. They did just that, leaving behind only handfuls of steam era information. A lot of valuable information, thrown away years ago. So everything is hard to find.
