The TGR (Tasmanian Government Railways) Fingal Line is a route with supporting sessions that are available on the DLS. The route and sessions are designed for T:ANE but they also work in TRS19 (all versions). The line is narrow gauge (3ft 6in - 1047mm). All required assets are either built into TANE and TRS19 or are available on the DLS.

Fingal Line Strip Map The Trainz layout is modelled on the actual route that branched off the main north-south Hobart to Launceston line at Conara Junction and ran east 75km (about 47mi) to St Marys near the east coast. The entire line, plus two short colliery branch lines, as it existed in the 1950s has been modelled in the route. The current line (2020) has been truncated at Fingal, about 2/3rds of its 1950s length, and all stations and yards have been removed.

Four stations were manned during normal office hours - Conara Junction, Avoca, Fingal and St Marys. Cullenswood was manned as needed for coal operations. Some of the "stations" were nothing more than "halts" with a station name sign and nothing else (including no platform).

Products carried in the 1950s were:-

  • Passengers Passengers
  • Coal Coal
  • Goods General Goods
  • Apples Apples
  • Logs Logs & Timber
  • Stockyard Sheep
  • Wool Wool
  • Oils_Fuels Fuel
  • FertilizerFertilizer

These products are commodities in the supporting sessions. Currently, in 2020, coal is the only product carried on the line.

Details of the DLS route, the supporting sessions and user discussions can be found in the Trainz Freeware Announcements forum at WikiLink.PNG TGR Fingal Line 1955
